Euromed: Education without borders is on the way to the III creative meeting in April 2017

Euromed: Education without borders its an great opportunity for European and Arab countries to build a bridges of cooperation, bridge of trust and communication on important topic like Education, Youth, Intercultural Dialogue and Cooperation.

Project has 3 main actions fields: Creative Meetings, Editorial meeting and International Grand Conference.

Three Creative Meetings (in Sweden, Morocco and Tunisia),

I and II Creative meetings has been run in Sweden and Morocco. Our creativity and toolkit and web-resources development process is on the finishing line.

The main goal of  the III creative meeting (in Sousse, Tunisia April 7th – 10th) is to the discuss intercultural citizenship education (formal and non formal) and facilitate group activities that are dedicated to developing best practices, examples, tasks and guidelines, which are to be included in the EUROMED Education Without Borders toolkit and web resource.

Through the three creative meetings the participants have received new ideas and tools on how to use creativity in addressing societal issues and have participated in developing them further. The methodology has been comprised together into a concrete form as a toolkit and also uploaded o the electronic web-resource that can be used as an education tool by participant organisations, but also schools, youth centers etc.

III Creative meeting is Co-organised in cooperation with Toile Tunisienne Active de la Citoyenneté Durable,  Les Scouts Tunisiens and  Anna Lind Foundation Tunisia network (We Love Sousse).

This week EUROMED Education without borders in Morocco

Project partners, young participants, expert and invited guest and speakers met together on the 9-12 February 2017 in the beautiful Moroccan city Assilah,  to discuss what had recently been done (during the I creative meeting and at home) for toolkit and web-resource and discuss our message to the Euro-Med governments what we want to address on the International Conference in Tallinn, Estonia 9th of June.

On the II creative meeting we learned about non-formal education in Morocco and Arab Countries “Creative experiences”, Egyptian partners (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) presented their efforts in the field of non-formal education. All partners have shared their best practices and give they feed back about what kind of educational games, activities mostly fit in their practical actions. Participants were divided into 5 working groups with main task to edit the toolkit parts and web-resource correction (translation, texts etc). On the second working day we continued our creative discussions, and this time theme was ”Education without borders to face extremism and hate speech”. Moroccan National committee presented their campaign “No Hate Speech Movement” and ” The Confrontation of Terrorism and Extremism”. Egyptian partner Bibliotheca Alexandrina presented their International program and officially signed  contract with Moroccan partner. In Estonia the rest of partners will sign the cooperation agreement with  Bibliotheca Alexandrina to join their initiative “The Confrontation of Terrorism and Extremism”. I Creative meeting in Sweden, Göteborg inspired youth and experts.

Project “Euromed: Education without borders” Partners and local organiser, experts and youth get together in the I Creative meeting on the 8-11th December in Göteborg, Sweden.
In the harmonious frame of the marvelous city of Goteborg it took place the first creative meeting of the Euromed project. The local partners were two upper secondary schools: Bernadotte and Munkebäcksgymnasiet.
These schools in addition to their regular classes have some classes dedicated to migrant students, mainly for helping them with the learning the Swedish language. And it is with these young people that we, participants of the meeting, had the opportunity to confront and interact.
Thanks to a workshop organized by the Swedish partners we have discussed together on sensitive issues, as the importance of the education, youth issues family, bullying, relationships and friendship, also has playing a role games. Education Without Borders comes to Gothenburg in December 2016

In the framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation co-funded project “Euro-Med: Education without Borders”, Munkebäcksgymnasiet, member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Swedish network, will host first Creative Meeting in Gothenburg from 8th – 11th December 2016.

The project aims to encourage creative solutions and advance intercultural education among young people of the Euro-Mediterranean region to increase communication and build trust to motivate young people cross borders to take charge of the development of the Euro-Mediterranean region and recognize the benefits of working together across cultural boundaries as we share common goals and a common future. “Euro-Med: Education without Borders” has been launched on the 23rd Sep. 2016 in Riga, Latvia.

Sillamäe Society for Child Welfare (Estonia) and other 9 partners from Latvia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Italy, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan has lunched Euro-Mediterranean annual project “Euro-Med: Education without Borders”in Riga, Latvia on the 23rd September 2016. The project is co-funded by Anna Lindh Foundation and supported by Tallink Group and others supporters.

The awareness that from the encounter with the “others” emerges an exchange that enriches both sides has been the base of the first meeting of the EUROMED project: education without borders. Partners came together for the first time in Riga from 23rd – 26th  September 2016. After an interesting visit at the Latvian Parliament the delegation moved to the Riga City Council for the project presentation and discussion with local politicians, local NGOs and interested bodies.  It was also the occasion for all the partners to knowing each other and to share common ideas on the intercultural education, common challenges and targeting for join solutions.

On the following two days were the occasion for a deep exchange of views on intercultural issues and also about everyone’s expectation on the outcomes of the project and preparation following events (creative meetings in Sweden, Morocco and Jordan) and development of Euro-Mediterranean web-resource on English, French and Arabic languages.

The success of the meeting was also favored by the magnificent setting of the city of Riga, Latvia and the hospitality of the local organiser (RIC).

EUROMED: Education without borders

The project aims to encourage creative solutions and advance intercultural education among young people of the Euro-Mediterranean region to increase communication and build trust to motivate young people cross borders to take charge of the development of the Euro-Mediterranean region and recognize the benefits of working together across cultural boundaries as we share common goals and a common future.

The project’s target group is young people from partner countries who are active and interested in the Euro-Mediterranean issues and have experience in education, youth work and creativity.

The project will take place from 1st of September 2016 to 31st of August 2017 in Estonia and Latvia (September 2016), Sweden (December 2016), Morocco (February 2017), Jordan (March 2017) and Egypt (April 2017).Estonian partner has taken on a leadership role, but the project is conceived as a full partnership between the ten countries.

The project includes a prep-meeting, three creative workshops, editorial meetings and other activities with the ultimate goal of developing EUROMED Education Without Borders toolkit and web resource. The project will end with an international conference in June, Tallinn, Estonia 2017 involving ALF management, Experts, representatives from European Commission, Union for the Mediterranean, Governments and Embassy representatives will participate in the conference.
