About project

The project will take place from 1st of September 2016 to 4th of July 2017 in Estonia and Latvia (September), Sweden (December), Morocco (February 2017), Tunisia (April 2017) and Egypt (April/May 2017).
Estonian partner has taken on a leadership role, but the project is conceived as a full partnership between the ten countries. The Project will involve Prep-meeting, three Creative Workshops, Editorial Meetings and other activities with the ultimate goal of developing EUROMED Education Without Borders toolkit and web resource.

The Project will end with an International Grand Conference on the 8-9th of June, Tallinn, Estonia 2017 involving ALF management, experts, representatives from European Commission, Council of Europe, Government of Estonia,Embassy representatives and many others.

Project objective is to encourage creative solutions and advance intercultural education among young people of the Euro-Mediterranean region to increase communication and build trust to motivate young people cross borders to take charge of the development of the Euro-Mediterranean region and recognize the benefits of working together across cultural boundaries as we share common goals and a common future. Project target group is and Young people from partner countries who are active and interested in the Euro-Mediterranean issues and have experience in education, youth work and creativity.

Objectives:
To advance intercultural education through the promotion and use of Euro Mediterranean Handbook on Intercultural Citizenship Education throughout project activities.
– To encourage creativity as a tool to use to address effectively difficult problems and develop solutions for them.
– To increase communication across regions and develop new informational/educational resources (web and toolkit) – designed by young people for young people – on Euro-Mediterranean issues.

Overall aim of the project:

Project results:
Young people from Euro-Mediterranean region have received knowledge and practice on intercultural citizenship education that supports participants to exercise their rights and responsibilities in society, enhance their feeling of belonging to the community, local and global, as well as sensitizing them to understand and appreciate the normality of different worldviews, customs and ways of life among human beings.
Outputs: 60 people trained at three creative meetings held, the handbook has been promoted at the International conference held in Tallinn and also on the electronic resource developed.

Through the three creative meetings the participants have received new ideas and tools on how to use creativity in addressing societal issues and have participated in developing them further. The methodology has been comprised together into a concrete form as a toolkit and also uploaded o the electronic web-resource that can be used as an education tool by participant organisations, but also schools, youth centers etc.
Outputs: 3 creative meetings carried out, toolkit and electronic web-resource developed.

Outputs of the project: International Grand Conference of main stakeholders and EuroMed Youth has been carried out.

Results sustainable outputs in the form of a creative intercultural education toolkit and web-resource have been developed and promoted that provide means for developing communication and understanding across Euro-Mediterranean regions. Now is the time where increased Euro-Mediterranean cooperation is extremely fruitful to both sides assisting the forging of a common ground hopefully built on common values and shared vision of the future. Young people from both regions are the ones who have the resourcefulness and drive for innovation that can make this happen in a truly sustainable manner. That’s why we feel that a project focusing on young people with its outcomes designed and created by young people of Euro-Mediterranean area with the intended purpose of motivating young people to take charge on Euro-Mediterranean issues is where keys to a better future for all of us are hidden.
